A Letter To My Boys On Mother’s Day:

To My Sweet Boys,

I am writing you this letter on the eve of Mother’s Day 2015, so you will always know what being a mom really means to me.  I tell you every day, multiple times a day, how much I love you, but I don’t think you will ever really quite grasp how much.  It’s a love that cannot be measured.

I dreamed of you my entire life and now you are here.  You have literally made all my dreams come true.  You gave me confidence and strength and helped me find my way.  Thank you.

When you had your tantrum tonight and were unable to express yourself, I knew what you were thinking inside and instead of getting frustrated, I knew what I had to do.  When I bent down to your level, hugged you and told you it would all be okay, you put your head on my shoulder and we connected.  We took a deep breath together, talked about your feelings and I sang to you.  Your eyes closed, your tears stopped and your body relaxed.  I will always try my best to understand what you need, even if you are unable to communicate it to me.

When lots of hugs and kisses turned into some waves and a few rare moments of acknowledgment, it was time to accept you were getting older.  You are needing me in a different way now and I am excited for our journey ahead together.  When you asked me not to leave your bed last night, but instead continue to cuddle with you, my face lit up and I was overjoyed.  “I just can’t resist  your cuddles Mommy”, you told me, and I knew deep down you would always be my baby, no matter how tall you are getting.

You are my buddy and my pal, and I am soaking up every minute of it with you.  You make me laugh and smile until my face hurts.  I hope you tell me you “love me big much” forever because I will always love you big much too!  I will never forget the day you were born.  The feeling of pure joy and true love that I felt for you as you laid on my chest and we fell asleep together will stay with me forever and ever.

Having the title of your mom is a huge honor.  To say I am proud to be your mom is simply not enough.  You have taught me patience, helped me grow and shaped who I am today.  You will make great father’s one day and will understand the love I have for you when that day comes.

I need you to know that I would do anything for you.  I need you to know how much you have really and truly changed my life for the better.  I need you to know how filled and complete you have made my heart.

You are my best friends in the whole wide world and I cannot wait for the memories that await us.  Thank you for making me a mom.  Thank you for being you.  Thank you for allowing me to be me.

Your Mommy!
