HC-Social_SAH16_Post3It’s that time again.  Can you believe school is just about here?  Me neither, although I am definitely ready to get back into the swing of things.  Our kids like to look and feel good for the first day of school.  What about the kids who cannot afford to get a haircut?  Why shouldn’t they have confidence too when they walk through the halls of their school?

With Hair Cuttery’s Share-A-Haircut program, from August 1-15, for every child’s haircut purchased at one of Hair Cuttery’s nearly 900 salons, a free haircut certificate will be donated to a child in need in your local community.  How great is that?  It’s such a wonderful lesson to teach our kids to give back and help another child feel good about themselves.

This year marks the 17th year of Share-A-Haircut, with Hair Cuttery’s most recent campaign donating 55,000 haircuts to victims of domestic violence this past spring. Since 1999, the Share-A-Haircut program has donated more than 1.89 million free haircut certificates valued at nearly $30.35 million.  Just amazing!

How will the victims of domestic violence receive their free haircuts?

  • Certificates will be distributed with the help of more than 100 local government and non-profit organizations in communities across the country.

How many victims of domestic violence does Hair Cuttery hope to reach this year?

  • This summer, Hair Cuttery is aiming to donate tens of thousands of free haircut certificates ahead of the new school year.

Where can I find the closest Hair Cuttery?

  • By using the salon locator, which you may access here!

I took my son to get his back-to-school haircut and boy, is he going to look sharp for his first day at his new school!  Here are his before pictures:

My son is excited to get started.  We were paired with Shannon, who was amazing.  She was so friendly, patient and always had a smile on her face.

I love the way his hair came out and thinks he looks so adorable!!!  I may be bias though. 🙂 He was clearly happy with the end results.

During his haircut, my little guy kept asking for a mohawk so Shannon was nice enough to put him back in the seat and with the help lots of gel and a hairdryer, she gave the boy his mohawk!  It looked awesome!!!  The haircut ended with a lollipop and a high five.  Shannon rocked!

Thanks Hair Cuttery!!!

So get off your computer and head on over to Hair Cuttery to get your child an affordable and great haircut, while giving back to a child in need!
